Around the 1989 reunion legal, half-legal and illegal Clubs like Tresor and Bunker played a major role in the new cultural identity of Berlin.  We wanted to experience the actual upcoming typical Berlin trashy, left places with all day long music. With these experiences we set up a similar space – a one-minute-solo-disco -  for ourselves.

The "Villa" is a project space on the Campus Design of Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts. I am living there on the top floor, which is not the most important fact about the Villa :) Students of Interior Design are making experiences in a project called OLE-optimal learning environment. The students have not found much awareness about the design of space in which we try to learn or teach at Universities. Some three other students of mine are experincing a creative lab in the villa, where their first project is to design a stage for VLOW at Bregenz Festspielhaus . And of course, coffee experience with Tchibo took place in the Villa. There is nothing new to the fact, that the design of space makes a difference in creative processes. It is just a horror to see how little effort is laid into creating space that has a positive impact on learning and teaching.  You just need to want change.

Coffee Experience with Tchibo A great workshop took place at the "Villa" during DesignCampus_open 2014 with Students working in interdisciplinary teams. The aim was to create a new urban coffee experience for the digital native. The movie and the results are here .

"Kreativlabor" or "Creative Lab" or "customize your Messescheiß" was the motto for the Interior Design Students from Hochschule Coburg at imm cologne. The idea behind the project was - again - to give the students as much freedom as possible to come up with their own design. At 2014 imm cologne - one of the world's most important trade fairs for furniture and interior design - Coburg University is present with their students from the Interior Design Department. The idea was to create a Creativity Lab where visitors and guests are involved in the design process of a product. Four simple products can be created on site - an envelope, a lampshade, a cushion and an "any-thing". Get in touch with our students and get to know our University.
